Entrepreneurs With Disabilities Program
The Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program, (EDP) is funded by Western Economic Diversification Canada. The EDP recognizes that people with disabilities have special needs. It ensures easy access to business services and other support mechanisms needed to consider self-employment a viable option.
The program provides western Canadians with disabilities with easy access to business information, training and development, mentoring and one-on-one counselling services, and financing in their pursuit of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
What does the program offer?
EDP provides assistance to entrepreneurs with disabilities by:
- assisting with business plan development.
- reducing barriers for entrepreneurs with disabilities who wish to start or expand their own business.
- providing mentoring and business counselling services.
- offering training in business development.
- business information and networking
- providing one-to-one assistance
WD Loan Program
Depending on availability a start-up loan is available through WD’s Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program.
Who is eligible?
Entrepreneurs from Saskatchewan meeting the following basic criteria may be considered for funding:
- have been unsuccessful in acquiring funding for business from other sources.
- are restricted in their ability to perform at least one of the basic activities of entrepreneurship or self-employment.
- have a viable business plan and are a new or current small business owner with a disability.
