Miranda’s Story
Miranda’s Success Story
When Miranda first connected with a
facilitator at SSILC just over a year ago, she had a clear goal in mind: find a
flexible contract job that would allow her to use her creativity and
communication skills. With dedication and a strong work ethic, Miranda attended
SSILC’s Job Interview Class, where she built confidence and sharpened her
interview skills.
She didn’t stop there. Miranda
worked closely with her facilitator on crafting compelling cover letters that
showcased her unique strengths and experience. One opportunity in particular
caught her eye—a six-month contract position editing the newsletter for the
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). With a thoughtfully written
application and a growing sense of confidence, Miranda applied.
She got the job.
Since then, Miranda has thrived as
newsletter editor. She’s written engaging stories and brought fresh ideas to
the table. Her journey is a testament to perseverance, collaboration, and
believing in yourself—even when the path isn’t always clear.
We’re so proud of Miranda and all that she’s accomplished—and we can’t wait to see what she’ll do next!
