Land Acknowledgement

Working together for Accessibility and Inclusion

SSILC acknowledges we are situated on Treaty 4 land, on territories of the nêhiyawak - nay-hi-yuh-wuk (Cree), Anihšināpēk - uh-nish-i-naa-payk (Salteaux), Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation. We acknowledge harms and injustices of the past and we are committed to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous Nations in the spirit of collaboration and reconciliation. It is truly time to focus on repairing relationships between immigrant Canadians who have settled over centuries and the First Nations people who have walked these lands since time immemorial.
