Program Overview
This goal-setting class will focus on understanding the steps involved in defining and reaching your goals.

Program highlights

Participants will:

  • Learn the difference between a dream and a goal
  • Learn how to avoid common mis-steps
  • Learn how to use the SMART method of goal-setting
  • Practice setting short-term goals
  • Opportunity to follow up and discuss your progress in class

Eligibility requirements

Participants will have the self-management skills necessary to engage in the class.

Tuesdays - May 13, May 20, and May 27, 2025
Mornings from 01:30 pm to 03:30 pm.

Self Management Workshop

Self-Management

This 3 Day (half-day) class will teach people how to make choices and plan for employment.

Program highlights

Participants will:

  • Learn how to set realistic goals for employment.
  • Learn how to make and carry out a plan for finding and keeping a job.
  • Self-evaluate what has been working for them and what has not.
  • Find ways to change the things that are not working to become employed.
  • Discover how their inter-personal relationships are key to success.
  • Eligibility requirements
    Participants will have the self-management skills necessary to engage in the class.

    Stress Management Workshop

    This 3-session workshop will assist you in achieving a better understanding of what stress means and how it affects each of us differently. You will discover ways to cope with and manage stress.

    Session highlights:
      1. Self Care – April 08, 2025, 01:30 - 03:30 pm
    • Learn about self-care and its many forms, and discover the kinds of self-care that work for you.
    • 2. What is Stress – April 09, 2025, 01:30 - 3:30 pm
    • What is stress to you.
    • Recognizing your sources of stress; external vs internal stress.
    • Identify your symptoms of stress.
    • 3.How Stress Affects Us – April 10, 2025, 01:30 - 03:30 pm
    • Recognize the difference between good and bad stress
    • Take away a deeper understanding of the affects of stress

    Eligibility requirements
    Sessions are stand-alone you are welcome to participate in all 3-sessions or you can choose which session(s) you are interested in.

    Job Interview Workshop

    Program Overview

    The Job Interview Workshop will focus on learning and applying interview skills. This interactive 6-hour training course will be offered on 2 consecutive days. The session would be interactive and co-facilitated. The workshop will be utilized for peer support, practice interview skills, and receive personalized feedback. Participants will receive copies of class material.

    Program highlights

    Participants will:
    • Learn the similarities and differences between in-person and virtual interviews
    • Answering interview questions technique
    • Practice common job interview questions
    • Participate in an online or in-person mock interview

    Eligibility requirements

    Participants must have a completed resume.

    This 3-day (half days) class based on the Color Spectrums model will assist you to identify your skills and find potential job matches.

    Program highlights

    Participants will:

    • Identify their strengths and skills for the workplace
    • Learn what types of job they are suited for
    • Learn ways to work productively with different people in a team setting
    • Learn how to communicate effectively with others
    • Learn how personality style impacts their disability management plan,

    Eligibility requirements

    Participants will have the self-management skills necessary to engage in the class.
